ParasailingWant a bird's eye view of our lush Island paradise and sparkling waterways? Then parasailing is a wonderful way to enjoy just that! You can see the Lowcountry from 400 or 800 feet as a solo or a tandem. Parasailing is a flying parachute tethered by a harness and towed by a speedboat. Standing on a platform at the rear of the boat, you are and gently lifted up into the air. The tow craft may slow, dipping the passenger into the water and skimming along the surface. Rather not get that camera wet? Just tell the crew. The ride is designed for any age, regardless of physical abilities. As there are minimum and maximum weight restrictions, children often go up in tandem with a parent. Prices vary according to soaring height and choice of harness: tandem versus single. The 10 to 15 minute ride is the same for a tandem but the cost is usually less than for two singles. Typically, parasailing on Hilton Head is available from early spring into September.
